First Annual Coal Mining Appreciation Day Swap Meet
Held at the Knights of Columbus in Fairmont, West Virginia, NACMHA hosted the event as an opportunity to spread the word about the coal mining heritage of the area. There was memorabilia available at the event and stories to be told.
Mike Rohaly, President of NACMHA, had this to say, “North Central West Virginia and even into the neighboring states is certainly “Coal Country” and home to many generations of coal miners. Very few parts of the United States have such a rich coal mining history and heritage. This event will be an opportunity to meet with other miners, relatives and descendants of miners and knowledgeable collectors to find out what items are worth or just exchange stories.”
